| SCALES AND SALES
From equipment to payment, American Diamond Importers
and GoldPartyUS.com employs professionalism and
integrity throughout the gold buying process. Read on to discover
more about the equipment we use, our payment methods, and our licensure,
which ensures your security as a gold seller or party host.
How We Measure Up
We use Ohaus® professional digital gold scales,
which measure in grams, ounces, and pennyweights. Ohaus®
scales are used by jewelers throughout the world for their pinpoint
accuracy. All of our scales are calibrated and checked daily for
accuracy.
Measurements are made in plain sight of the customer; therefore
both the consultant and customer can easily verify the accuracy
and weight.
Grams, Ounces, and Pennyweights
Our scales read in several weights. Therefore, our consultants can
provide for you the grams, ounces, or pennyweights of your gold.
Empowered by this information at the party or here in our store,
you will be better prepared to make a choice whether to sell or
not to sell.
The Tools of the Trade
Gold jewelry can be produced from 6k – 24k. Therefore, it
is essential that we obtain the accuracy of the gold content in
order to provide you with the right price for your gold. While the
trained eye is good, we also utilize electronics and acids to confirm
content.
A variety of testers are engaged at each party to be sure that
the customer receives the most accurate evaluation. Accuracy ensures
that we are paying the right price for the karat content, which
translates into the very best price for the customer. Interestingly,
when the gold is tested, each customer is able to see the results
and learn how these testers work. Our testers are truly the most
accurate testing equipment used in the jewelry industry today.
Gold Prices, the Market, and How We Determine Your Payout
We base our rates on the current gold market for that day. Here
is an example: Let’s imagine that gold is $865 per ounce on
Tuesday and your party is on Wednesday. On Wednesday, gold closed
at $872 per ounce. Your rate would be based on $872 per ounce. This
price is based on 100% pure gold. Since most customers do not have
24k or pure gold to sell, a formula is used to breakdown the daily
rate, which allows us to offer you the best possible price for 10k,
14, or 18k gold.
Pay and Price Matching
We strive to pay the most. Occasionally, we do find another jeweler
buying for a slightly higher price. When that occurs, we offer to
match that price and, many times, we offer to increase that price
by 10%.
Payment Methods
Whether you are here in the store or at an ADI Gold Party, you will
receive two offers for your gold.
First, we will offer you a check for the value of your gold. Our
corporate checks are issued through Bank
of America or Seaway
Community Bank, both member FDIC.
Second, we will offer you a 50% increase for American
Diamond Importers store credit, good for use on our website
at americandiamondimporters.com
or in our retail showroom in downtown Saint
Clair, Michigan. For example, if your gold value is $500, we
can cut you a check for $500, cashable immediately, or you may add 50% - $750 – for store credit. Treat yourself to
a new pair of diamond studs, a new watch, or surprise a loved one
with an unforgettable gift.
Checks over Cash
Why do we cut checks rather than pay in cash? Always keeping your
safety in mind, we feel that it is far safer to bring checks to
a party than to bring cash. In addition to safety, checks provide
a more effective tracking system not only for our customers but
with regard to filing with the IRS as well. For playing by all the
gold party rules includes paying our taxes.
Check Payment Backed by Line of Credit
Our checking account is also backed by our line of credit, which
assures that your checks will not bounce regardless the size of
your payment or your party. Your guests can count on the same assurance
and accept check payment with confidence. Guaranteed.
Licensure and the Law
Your security is essential. When entrusting a gold buying company
or jeweler with your gold, be certain that they act with compliance
to state and federal laws.
American Diamond Importers is licensed by the
State of Michigan under the Precious Metals Act of 1981. We abide
by all local, state, and federal laws. Adherence to these laws requires
that we ask for picture IDs, take thumbprints, and forward the proper
documentation to the appropriate authorities.
